Easy Air Fryer Crab Cakes

Today I would like to share with you these delicious crab cakes. This is one of my favorite air fryer recipes and can be whipped up in just minutes making them a great last minute meal.

“Don’t worry mister crab, these are made with imitation crab meat”.

I have been making these at least once a month. They make up quick and easy and have been a table pleasure. If you do not have an air fryer, I assume you can bake them in the oven just the same. I honestly do not know. I have rarely used my oven since getting an air fryer. I absolutely love that thing.

Now, head to the store and grab these simple ingredients:
  • 8 oz pack of imitation crab meat ( chunks or shreds. I doesn’t matter. Your gonna chop it anyway).
  • 1/3 cup of bread crumbs ( I used two pieces of hard toasted wheat bread).
  • 1/2 cup green pepper (finely diced).
  • 1 egg.
  • 1/4 cup mayo.
  • 1/2 juice of a lemon.
  • Cooking oil.
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning ( or any other seafood seasoning).
-Chop the crab meat fine (I added it to my food chopper for best results).
-Mix all ingredients together and form patties.
-Place patties in air fryer and spray with oil.
-Cook for 10 minutes on 380 degrees (I flipped once but optional).

Enjoy on a bun as a sandwich or alone with a meal.
You can add other ingredients to your liking such as red peppers, onions, etc.
Makes 4-6 patties. Refrigerate left overs.

  1. sounds good. yum. yum. i come from the east coast where we use lump blue crab to make our crabcakes. and they are delectable. however now living in the midwest can't get the real thing so your imitation cakes look like a great alternative. don't have an air fryer though. will have to look into it.

  2. YUM! I am allergic to shellfish but I make a great salmon patty. I will try this recipe with salmon. xo

  3. They look great. I must find out really what an 'air fryer' is. I know you have talked about one and I kept meaning to see one, NOW I WILL! I think we should have one up in the house in Belmont. WE have room in that kitchen. Thanks, we are a cool 57 here this morning.

  4. mmmm they sure look good. I don't have an air fryer and every time you mention yours I think about getting one!! Maybe this time I actually will. : )

  5. I found out a few years back that I'm allergic to shellfish so I stay away from crabcakes....but I used to LOVE them, and the restaurant at the resort I work at made them soooo well! These look great! I use my air fryer mostly for chicken wings...OMG they are so good, I crave them!

  6. I looked up a major difference between real for imi. crab, apparently it fails in comparison to the real thing nutrient wise. I always find stuff like that neat.

  7. Dang those look good. Whenever I eat out with friends, why is it that the food they ordered always looks better than what I ordered?

  8. I often make tuna and salmon cakes that way, only I fry them in a skillet. The air fryer is a much better idea.
