I’m trying to get my thoughts together so I can be ready to celebrate St.Patricks Day. This is when we usually take our first beach trip of the season but with all the rain we have been having, we decided to wait a week.

I had my nails painted green for St.Patricks Day and now Im looking for a green shirt. This is the only time of the year you will see me wearing green. For some reason, when I wear green, I am grumpy and hateful all day. I just do not know what it is that does that. I can wear an olive or army green and I’m fine but I have to avoid the greeny greens.

March is when we see most of the weeds taking over the yard letting us know its time to start the lawn mowing.

Speaking of weeds, our yard is full of clovers. This brings back memories of when I was young. All the girl friends would sit for hours combing through clover patches trying to find a four leaf clover. If we were lucky we would find a few. The odd to finding one is 10,000 to 1.

It was always fun. Even now, when we go out for a walk, sometimes I get left behind while I squat down to a patch of big fat clovers. I have not had much luck latley finding one. I read over at Andreas blog that her grandmother left behind 238 four leaf clovers she had found during her life. 133 of those were found pressed in her Bible. Isn't that just the sweetest thing? She has a cute little post about it HERE

I made some green eggs and ham muffins this morning for breakfast and will have my traditional bowl of Lucky Charms Cereal on St. Patricks Morning.
For the muffins, I place deli ham inside muffin cups, filled with egg and cheese and baked for 20 minutes. The topping is smashed avocado. This was so delicious. Each cup is about 80 calories and has 9 grams of protein.

My daughter and her boyfriend will be coming over for dinner on Sunday. We will be having Cornbeef Brisket, Cabbage Steaks and Taters. I still have to decide on a little dessert. I may just pick up some cupcakes from a deli.

What are your plans for St. Patricks Day?

  1. Just don't wear the green, if it makes you grumpy!

Wear something that makes you happy.

    Happy St. Pat's

  2. I just knew you would have something 'original looking'. Loved the green eggs and ham. And yes what a nice thought of so many 4 leaf clovers saved. I wish I had thought of that!!! too late now for a large count. hahahaha
Love from a sunny Belmont, after that drizzly day yesterday.
    Sherry & jack
    (Good idea postponing the trip!)

  3. the clover pressed in the bible. So sweet...Love your green eggs and ham..have a great time with daughter and her fella....

  4. You are just the sweetest, I am going to show this to my mom as it will make her so proud too! Thank you for sharing my sweet story and thank you for being such a sweetheart! I love your nails, have so much festive fun!

  5. That is a genius idea with the ham cups.

I have never found a four leaf clover. I used to look and look. My son finds them all the time. He even found a few double clovers.

  6. I don't wear much green myself. I do have a bright day glo green hooded sweatshirt that I wear walking so I'm seen.
We don't do anything for St Patrick's Day.

  7. I have a few green shirts, so I'm safe today.

  8. I love the green color on your nails! I cannot wear greeny green at all. I can wear olive, but that's as far as it goes! We used to make necklaces out of the clovers when I was growing up...itchy things they were around our necks...LOL Hope you have a great St. Patrick's day...I will not be wearing green...LOL Hugs! PS...soap is on it's way...should be there Tuesday or Wednesday. :-)

  9. I am going to use this recipe for sure! I am always looking for something with low carbs for breakfast! Great idea.
I used to have a few 4 leaf clovers and can remember hunting for them as a kid. They are long gone. I love the idea of them being pressed into her bible. How precious is that?!
I hope you have a really great week, Lisa. xo Diana

  10. mmm, the green eggs and ham look yummy! I love your nails, they turned out great! I wear green, but do prefer soft greens like olive, sage, some emerald, nothing too bright! Finally nice to see the sun, right?
    Have a great week!
    jess xx

  11. Love your "green eggs and ham"! I love greens, with the olive skin and dark hair it looks good on me, and probably looks good on you! But.. I have the same reaction when wearing pink, so I just don't. LOL.
