DIY Lure Bracelets

Have I ever told you I love fishing? Well, I haven’t been in a really long time. I can’t get anyone to take me. If I ever move to the beach, I will become a surf fisherman. I would love getting out there knee deep in the surf during the early morning sunrise.

I remember the days when daddy took me fishing on the river banks. The deal was, if I go dig up the worms, we can go fishing. So, I would got out to the woods and rake back beds of leaves. I was usually able to collect a whole pint. Then with a cane pole, he would take me fishing. I don’t know how many times I hooked his finger or ears. My grandmother used to take me cat fishing in local ponds. She would start before the sun came up and sit out there all day. I wish I had those days back. Spending the day fishing with memaw, eating beanie weenies and crackers and squatting behind the trees when nature called.

Ok now to my craft. When we were at the beach a couple weeks ago, I told Nick about some bracelets I wanted to make for fun. First I needed to go to a tackle store, so he drove me up the road to Bass Pro Shop. There I found some shiny swivels and a spinner. At the campground store, I found a spoon lure.

I simply hooked the swivels together then hooked to the lures after removing the hooks. Four swivels and a lure made the perfect size bracelet for me.

I love how they turned out and now I plan to make some more by using different colors and sizes. I could have went a little smaller on the spinner lure. They come in all sorts of colors and designs. They make a cool conversation starter and when I’m wearing them, it brings back those child hood memories that make me smile.
